GAS Prices Today March 26, 2026: Rising crude oil costs continue to push up retail fuel prices nationwide. With the spring season officially beginning on March 20, 2026, commuters are already feeling the pinch at the pump as prices climb, according to the AAA Fuel Prices website.

The steady increase in crude oil prices is pushing retail fuel costs higher. However, on Thursday (March 26, 2026), the national average price for a gallon of regular petrol saw a slight dip and stood at $3.981, according to AAA. On Wednesday (March 25, 2026), the national average price for a gallon of regular petrol stood at $3.983.

The White House announcement earlier in March 2026 to release 172 million barrels of oil from its strategic reserves over four months has no immediate relief on the oil market as the price of a barrel of crude continues to climb.
