After Spirit Airlines announced an immediate shutdown and cancelled all flights, Frontier Airlines has stepped in with discounted “rescue fares” to help stranded travelers rebook their trips. The Denver-based airline said on May 2 in a release that it is offering systemwide fare discounts and a $199 GoWild All-You-Can-Fly Summer Pass for customers affected by Spirit’s closure.

Frontier, which currently serves more than 100 routes previously flown by Spirit, says it has plans to expand further this summer with nine additional routes and 15 more daily flights across 18 former Spirit markets.

Earlier in a social media post, Frontier Airlines had hinted at stepping in to help if Spirit Airlines stopped operations, saying it was prepared to support affected customers and help them continue their travel plans with low-fare options.

“Spirit Airlines played an important role in expanding access to affordable travel and bringing more low fares to more people,” said Bobby Schroeter, Frontier’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“We recognize this is a difficult time for their customers and team members. Frontier is making discounted fares available to help people keep their travel plans and maintain access to low fares.” The airline said the move is to help travelers maintain affordable options after Spirit’s sudden exit from the market.

Up to 50% off fares for affected travelers by Spirit Airlines shutdown

To support impacted passengers, Frontier is offering up to 50% off base fares across its network for travel through November 19, 2026. Customers must book by May 10 using promo code SAVENOW on FlyFrontier.com or through the Frontier mobile app.

Travel on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday qualifies for a 50% base fare discount with a 21-day advance purchase. Flights on other days are eligible for a 10% discount with no advance purchase requirement.

Certain blackout dates apply, including peak travel periods in May, June, July, September, and October.

Summer pass also launched

Along with fare discounts, Frontier is also offering its $199 GoWild All-You-Can-Fly Summer Pass, giving customers another low-cost option for travel during the busy summer season. The promo applies only to base fares and does not include government taxes, fees, or carrier-imposed charges. It is also not valid on Frontier’s highest Y-class fares.

Passengers must apply the promo code directly while booking, and all standard travel rules under Frontier’s Contract of Carriage will still apply.
