As Muslims across the world mark Eid al-Fitr, several brands in the United States have rolled out special promotions and discounts to coincide with the festive season. Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and prayer, is among the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar. This year, Eid falls on Friday, March 20, with families gathering for prayers, meals, and community events.

Is Eid a public holiday in US

While Eid al-Fitr is widely celebrated, it is not a federal public holiday in the United States, meaning businesses continue to operate under normal hours. However, workplaces and educational institutions increasingly accommodate requests for leave, as Muslim employees and students take time off to attend morning prayers and family gatherings.

The day typically begins with special congregational prayers and sermons, followed by community celebrations at mosques, parks, or rented venues. Food, gifts for children, and social gatherings remain central to the festivities, which can extend over three days.

Eid offers in the US: Remittance and retail deals

Reflecting the growing consumer activity around Eid, companies have introduced targeted deals:

  • Panda Remit announced a limited-time Eid promotion offering $0 transfer fees from the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, along with free coupons and quick transfer options. The offer is valid until March 23.

  • ChildCareEd launched an “Eid al-Fitr Celebration Deal”, providing $15 off culturally responsive childcare training with the coupon code 15OFFEID. The offer applies to purchases above $55 and runs through March 21, 2026.

  • YesStyle is promoting an Eid-themed sale with an extra 15% off makeup products using the code EID25, subject to a minimum purchase requirement.
With rising digital engagement and cross-border transactions during the festival, such targeted campaigns highlight how Eid is becoming a key seasonal moment for brands in the US market, even without official public holiday status.
