Neo Langston, American singer D4vd’s friend who was arrested by police in January 2026 after failing to appear as a witness in Los Angeles, has opened up in Instagram stories and claimed that he is “legally fine” and that he was not charged despite the arrest in the case of the alleged murder of a 14-year-old, Celeste Rivas-Hernandez.

The case came to light in September 2025 when the long-dead body of Rivas was found in an apparently abandoned Tesla registered to D4vd, who is the target of a Los Angeles County grand jury investigation, that was towed from the Hollywood Hills, news agency AP reported, citing court documents.

The teenager’s decomposed body was found on September 8, 2025, a day after she would have turned 15. She was a 13-year-old seventh grader when her family reported her missing in 2024 from her hometown of Lake Elsinore, about 70 miles (112 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles.

Neo reportedly appeared before the grand jury for only 40 minutes. According to TMZ, he did not offer much information, but he has said a lot and has made claims in his private Instagram stories. "Thankfully I'm legally fine in every way, AND BOI DO I GOT ALL MY RECEIPTS FOR THINGS HAHAHAHA," Neo said in his private Instagram posts shared with “close friends” on Friday (March 13, 2026).

"I told so many people that I trust and I thought knew me as a person my side of things, all for that to be thrown out the fkin window as soon as I get arrested and they slap that d***heads [sic] name next to mine." "And for the record, the thing I was arrested for I wasn't even charged. They never filed it and my warrant was retracted because there is more to the story then what's on the news," he continued.

D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, apparently took a mysterious, middle-of-the-night drive from L.A. to a remote area of Santa Barbara in the spring of 2025, months before the teenager’s body was discovered in the trunk of the singer’s Tesla near his L.A. home, TMZ reported, citing law enforcement sources.

The outlet was told that D4vd was accompanied by another person, and there were online rumors it was Neo. Speaking to TMZ, Neo's lawyer said, "[Neo] played no part in this heinous crime, and he... continues to be wrongfully persecuted in the court of public opinion." After the girl’s body was discovered, Neo removed all his Instagram posts that had D4vd in them.
