Six new cast members announced
The anime has added six voice actors to its lineup. Misato Matsuoka will play Yakuneko, a junior who admires Yanineko and refers to him as her senior. Yurie Funato voices Hameneko, Yakuneko’s high school classmate, while Ayaka Shimizu plays Kansaineko, a college student cat who speaks in the Kansai dialect.

Shiori Izawa will voice Alneko, a beast-man known for heavy drinking and spending most of his time immersed in alcohol. Riko Akechi plays Ochinpo Tatsuro, the only human living in the same apartment building as Yanineko and a manga artist. Meanwhile, Toru Inada voices the landlord who manages the building where the characters reside.
Key visual highlights main characters
The newly released visual features Yani Neko, Yaku Neko, Hame Neko, Kansai Neko, Al Neko, and Ochinpo Tatsuro standing in an alleyway. The artwork is designed to showcase each character’s individuality and provide a glimpse into their personalities.

Chainsmoker Cat is a comedy set in a world where humans and beastmen coexist, following the daily life of Yani Neko, a heavy-smoking, good-for-nothing beastman. The series is directed by Taku Kimura and written by Takashi Aoshima, with character designs by Riki Matsuura. Music is composed by Keiichi Suzuki, and animation production is handled by Bibury Animation Studios.
