Chad Ollinger in fresh trouble: The Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch star ‘rebooked for open murder’ after his cellmate found dead inside jail; check previous charges against him

Chad Ollinger, the Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch alum, landed in fresh trouble when he was "rebooked for open murder" after his cellmate was found dead inside a Las Vegas jail. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said that the 41-year-old was taken into custody after corrections officers found a male inmate lying motionless inside his cell while conducting routine checks.

“On December 26, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., LVMPD Corrections Officers inside of the Clark County Detention Center were conducting routine checks when they observed a male inmate lying motionless inside of a cell. Officers made entry and observed the inmate was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries. The other cellmate, who was identified as 41-year-old Chad Ollinger, was taken into custody,” LVMPD said in a release on its website.

Officers immediately rendered aid to the victim and requested for medical personnel to respond; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

LVMPD, in its release, said, “Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned a physical altercation occurred between the victim and Ollinger inside of the cell.” “This investigation is ongoing and led by the LVMPD Homicide Section,” the release further stated.

Chad Ollinger's previous charges

Ollinger was facing multiple charges related to traffic violations and driver’s license issues prior to the latest booking. According to TMZ, he was previously arrested in November 2024 after he ran a stop light in front of an unmarked police car while driving his motorcycle and attempted to flee once officers tried to pull him over.

He initially refused to stop, leading to a brief pursuit. After the pursuit, he began to run on foot. He was caught eventually and was placed under arrest. TMZ reported that the Discovery Channel star faced two charges: evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and evading arrest/detention on foot. After being initially booked into the county jail, he was released after posting bond soon after.

A few months later, Chad Ollinger was again arrested by PPD near Pampa, Texas. The arrest took place on February 8, 2025. He was driving with an invalid license with previous convictions in addition to traveling at least 10% above the posted limit, according to The Pampa News.


Who is Chad Ollinger?

Chad Ollinger, the star of Discovery’s The Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, is the son of Blind Frog Ranch owner Duane Ollinger. He is married with four children. According to Discovery, he sold his crop-dusting business and family home to help fund this year's operation.

Duane describes his son by saying, "He doesn't have an ounce of quit in him," and if someone needs to SCUBA dive into an unknown cavern system 50 feet beneath the ground, it's going to be Chad, according to Discovery.
