Black Bear steals spotlight at Tennessee Christmas parade, Video goes viral as unfazed mammal stunned onlookers
A black bear unexpectedly joined a Tennessee Christmas parade, captivating onlookers and going viral. The animal, unfazed by the crowds, calmly ambled through the festivities. Wildlife officials expressed concern, noting the bear's potential habit...

The bear's unexpected appearance at the 50th annual Christmas parade in Gatlinburg created a huge uproar on Friday. As the roadway remained clear except for the wandering animal, spectators could be heard shouting while the bear calmly wandered into a nearby parking lot.
According to WVLT 8, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) noted that the bear captured on camera has likely grown accustomed to humans and may eventually need to be put down, as it now associates people with a food source. With approximately 1,900 bears living around Gatlinburg, it isn’t unusual for one to wander into town in search of food, but seeing a bear among hundreds of paradegoers is rare.
Locals noted that this particular bear is often spotted in the area, raising concerns about it getting into food, reported WVLT 8. In response, the city has invested in bear-proof trash cans and dumpsters and urges residents and visitors to use them properly to reduce human-bear encounters.
