Billionaire hedge-fund manager Bill Ackman donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe supporting ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good during a confrontation in Minneapolis, a contribution that represents roughly 0.0001075% of his reported $9.3 billion net worth, New York Post reported. Ackman shared the fundraiser on X, saying he believes in the principle that people are 'innocent until proven guilty' and that he also intended to support a GoFundMe for Good’s family - but that campaign had already closed by the time he tried to donate. The shooting has sparked intense national debate and protest, and Ackman called the situation a tragedy while urging unity.

The GoFundMe set up for Good’s widow and children was closed by the organizer after it raised more than $1.5 million for the family. Renee Good, 37, was fatally shot by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis during a confrontation with federal officers, which has sparked widespread public outrage and debate over the use of deadly force. Video and reports show the agent fired multiple shots at Good’s vehicle shortly before it crashed. The incident has drawn intense national attention, with protests, political responses, and calls for transparency about the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting.

"I am big believer in our legal principal [sic] that one is innocent until proven guilty. To that end, I supported the @gofundme for Jonathan Ross and intended to similarly support the gofundme for Renee Good’s family (her gofundme was closed by the time I attempted to provide support),” Ackman, founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, wrote on X.

"The whole situation is a tragedy. An officer doing his best to do his job, and a protester who likely did not intend to kill the officer but whose actions in a split second led to her death.

"Our country is stronger if we work together to resolve the complex issues that are tearing us apart," Ackman further wrote.

Jonathan Ross

The GoFundMe supporting Officer Jonathan Ross, intended to cover 'any legal services this officer needs', has raised nearly $340,000 and continues to grow after Ackman's post on X. The fundraiser’s organizer, who does not appear to personally know Ross as reported by New York Post, criticized Renee Good’s viral charity campaign, calling it 'media BS about a domestic terrorist'.

"I feel that the officer that was 1000 percent justified in the shooting deserves to have a go fund me," they wrote on the GoFundMe page.

According to the New York Post, the organizer posted an update on Sunday stating that all donations will be refunded if they don’t hear from Ross’ family by March 9.
