Sports journalist Melanie Newman earlier shared a post on X: “Whitney just read the headline in Chicago… Whitney Leavitt leaves Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
TMZ has released a video of the event.
Leavitt has been a central figure on the Emmy-nominated reality series, appearing in every episode. The show follows a group of Mormon mom-influencers navigating a scandal that shakes their faith, friendships, and public image.
A Reddit post from an alleged audience member also described the on-stage announcement, which was later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
“At Whitney’s last performance tonight. While in character as Roxy. Officially announces she leaving SLOMW,” the post read. “The crowd went wild with cheering.”
The announcement comes just weeks after filming for Season 5 of the series resumed following a month-long pause tied to an alleged domestic violence incident involving cast members Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.
Leavitt had earlier hinted at a possible exit in a March interview with The Hollywood Reporter, suggesting she was considering other opportunities beyond the show.
