Was D4vd married? Singer arrested on suspicion of killing Celeste Rivas, found dead in his Tesla

D4vd Arrest: In a major development, singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of killing a teenage girl seven months after her decomposed body was found in September 2025 in an apparently abandoned Tesla registered to him that was towed from the Hollywood Hills, police said Thursday (April 16, 2026).

Los Angeles police have said in a statement that the 21-year-old Houston-born alt-pop singer whose legal name is David Burke was being held without bail.

“Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division, have arrested David Burke, a 21-year-old resident of Los Angeles, for the murder of Celeste Rivas. Burke is being held without bail,” the police department said. He was reportedly in a relationship with Rivas before she was found dead.


The long-dead body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in a Tesla on September 8, 2025, a day after she would have turned 15. She was a 13-year-old seventh grader when her family reported her missing in 2024 from her hometown of Lake Elsinore, about 70 miles (112 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles.

Authorities give her age as 14 when she was killed in court documents. The 2023 Tesla Model Y was registered in the singer's name at the Texas address of his subpoenaed family members, according to court filings from prosecutors. It had been towed from an upscale neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills where it had been sitting, seemingly abandoned.

Police said investigators would present a case to the District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges on Monday (April 20, 2026). An LA County grand jury was investigating the singer in connection with Rivas's death.

Was D4vd married?

D4vd reportedly had a relationship with Celeste, who was 14 when her body was found, TMZ reported, citing authorities. The teenager’s funeral was held October 6, 2025, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California, where family and friends said their last goodbyes. There were no confirmed reports of him being married.
