Sakamoto Days live-action film set for April release: Snow Man’s ‘BANG!!’ ignites final trailer

The live-action adaptation of Sakamoto Days has taken a major promotional step with the release of its final trailer, which prominently features the new theme song “BANG!!” by Japanese idol group Snow Man. This marks a strategic push for the film, slated to hit Japanese theaters on April 29, 2026, coinciding with Japan’s Golden Week holiday, a key period for major cinematic releases.

The newly unveiled trailer showcases intense action sequences and gives audiences their first significant audio preview of the high-energy track Snow Man created specifically for the movie.



According to official comments, the song’s driving beat and brisk melody are intended to mirror the film’s dynamic action and the protagonist’s relentless spirit. Lead Snow Man member Ren Meguro, who also stars as the film’s lead, Taro Sakamoto, described the track as “爽快でかっこいい” (refreshing and stylish), designed to evoke energy and courage in listeners.

“BANG!!” will be part of Snow Man’s first triple A-side single, BANG!! / SAVE YOUR HEART / オドロウゼ！, scheduled for release on April 29, 2026, the same day as the film’s opening.

The single’s blend of aggressive beats and lyrical themes of forward momentum align with the movie’s central narrative of fighting to protect loved ones.

Based on Yuto Suzuki’s hit manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2020, Sakamoto Days blends action and comedy, following retired legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto who must confront threats from his past while trying to maintain a peaceful life with his family.

The manga has been a commercial success, boasting over 15 million copies in circulation (including digital) and spawning a popular anime adaptation in 2025.

The live-action film, directed and scripted by Yuichi Fukuda (known for previous Gintama adaptations), features a star-studded Japanese cast including:
