According to reports published on December 14, tragedy later unfolded at the Reiner family’s Brentwood, California, mansion, where the bodies of Rob Reiner and his wife were discovered. Daily Variety reported that authorities were treating the deaths as an “apparent homicide.”

LAPD is still investigating Rob Reiner’s death
TMZ reported that “the two suffered lacerations consistent with a knife. The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is still investigating.” Later it was known that one of the couple’s two sons, Nick Reiner, stands accused in connection with the deaths. When Rob Reiner was married to Penny Marshall, his first wife, he also adopted a daughter, Tracy. However, authorities have not publicly confirmed these allegations.
