Reincarnated as a Sword season 2 officially set for October 2026, new trailer revealed

The second season of Reincarnated as a Sword has officially been confirmed for an October 2026 broadcast, with a brand-new trailer unveiled during a stage event at AnimeJapan 2026 hosted at NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan’s booth, reports crunchyroll. The announcement also revealed the first promotional video, teasing the next phase of 'Fran' and Master’s adventure.

“The TV anime 'Reincarnated as a Sword II' will begin airing in October 2026! Along with this announcement, the first promotional video has also been released,” its website posted on Saturday, March 28.

The upcoming season follows Master and Fran as they set their sights on the "Floating Island" high in the sky. Waiting for Fran and her companions on the Floating Island is an "army of the dead" swirling with vengeful spirits. The first PV is packed with elements such as Fran and her companions facing a desperate situation and thrilling action scenes.

Reincarnated as a Sword: Backstory

Fran, a black cat girl who was oppressed as a nameless slave, meets a sword, an "intelligent weapon," and becomes its wielder after meeting her master. After joining the adventurer's guild in the fortress city of Alessa, she earns recognition by completing numerous quests and steadily building her reputation.

Driven by her goal of "evolution," the ultimate measure of strength, Fran continues traveling with her master, who sets their next destination as the port town of Darz to help fulfill her "wish." Along the journey, they discover a "floating island" in the sky and encounter Jean Douby, a necromancer seeking to conquer it entirely.

Accepting his request, they venture into the floating island’s labyrinth, only to find it a dangerous dungeon filled with undead beasts. A new adventure begins for a cat-eared girl and a doting, sword-wielding parent.
