Rapper King Harris arrested on multiple charges in Georgia, takes jab at officers on social media
King Harris, son of TI and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, was arrested in Gwinnett County after a speeding stop led to felony drug and obstruction charges. He later posted selfies online, including an explicit message aimed at police, drawing wider attenti...

Gwinnett County Police officers pulled Harris over at approximately 1am on Sunday after clocking him traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, county records show. During the stop, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle and ordered Harris to exit, which authorities say he initially refused, an action that later contributed to obstruction charges.
In addition to the speeding citation, Harris was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt.
A subsequent search turned up a THC vape pen containing 10 milligrams of the controlled substance, which led to a felony drug possession charge for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, according to quotes from court and jail records reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The unusual circumstances of the encounter drew widespread attention: Harris was reportedly wearing a Pikachu onesie at the time of his arrest, an image he later shared on his verified Instagram account. In a post accompanying a selfie from the arrest, he compared the police to “Team Rocket” from the Pokémon franchise and quipped that they “caught da Pikachu wit a master ball.”
In one selfie posted after the incident, this time no longer wearing the Pikachu costume, Harris is seen gesturing offensively toward the camera.
He also posted a caption containing an explicit message directed at law enforcement, writing: "F* dat police".
Charges and booking
Harris was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on multiple charges:
- Felony possession of a controlled substance
- Misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement officers
- Traffic citations for speeding and seatbelt violation
Past legal troubles
This is not Harris’ first incident with law enforcement in Georgia. In 2024, he was arrested after nearly striking a police cruiser at a gas station; officers at that time reported smelling marijuana and discovered an outstanding warrant from Pickens County for failing to appear in court. Those Pickens County charges were ultimately dropped in August 2025.
As of publication, neither Harris nor his representatives, including his parents, have issued an official statement regarding the arrest.
