Paradise returns with a gripping new chapter as Season 2 unveils its trailer
The announcement came during the show’s panel at CCXP in Brazil, alongside a brand-new teaser that hints at the perilous journey ahead.
What’s inside the trailer
The trailer confirms that Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins escapes the subterranean city that defined Season 1. Believing his wife Teri (Enuka Okuma) may still be alive after years of assuming she perished on “The Day,” Xavier ventures to the surface, confronting a world transformed and dangerous while the bunker dwellers remained sealed below.
The footage also features James Marsden reprising his role as former US President Cal Bradford, alongside a tease of Jon Beavers’ Billy. Shailene Woodley joins the cast in a mysterious new role, while the chilling antagonist Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) delivers the trailer’s most ominous line: “It was never just about the bunker.”
Season 2 promises to explore both Xavier’s treacherous search for Teri and the unraveling society left behind in Paradise.
“Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”
The cast
Returning cast members include Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans, with Marsden, Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Beavers appearing in recurring roles.
The new trailer offers a dramatic glimpse of Xavier’s arrival on Earth’s surface. He awakens in a fiery, crashed plane lodged in a tree, sliding down the aisle in pain after unbuckling his seatbelt. As he navigates the perilous outside world, an unknown voice warns: “The world outside is simply no longer survivable … there is a lot that you don’t know.”
With Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier navigating a transformed world above ground and the social tensions in Paradise reaching a boiling point, Season 2 promises to be an intense, high-stakes continuation of the post-apocalyptic saga.
