The second half of the anime is expected to focus heavily on the escalating conflict between underground arena fighters and the resurrected legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto, one of the most iconic historical figures in Japanese history. Netflix and TMS Entertainment also released a new key visual and promotional trailer teasing the brutal battles ahead.
According to Netflix’s Tudum platform, Part 2 of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai will consist of Episodes 14 through 25. The streaming platform confirmed the series will launch worldwide on June 18 as a binge release.
The anime originally debuted on Netflix on February 26, 2026, with its first 13 episodes introducing the resurrection of Musashi Miyamoto through a controversial scientific experiment conducted beneath Tokyo Skytree.
Netflix described the upcoming episodes as a continuation of the “life-or-death battles” between modern martial artists and the ancient swordsman. Producer Kei Watabiki noted that the inclusion of swords and weapons changes the atmosphere of combat significantly compared to previous hand-to-hand battles in the franchise.
The central premise of Baki-Dou revolves around the resurrection of Musashi Miyamoto. In the anime’s storyline, scientists use advanced cloning technology to bring Musashi back to life in the modern era, creating chaos among the world’s strongest fighters.
The series follows protagonist Baki Hanma and several underground arena warriors as they confront Musashi’s overwhelming strength. Fighters such as Doppo Orochi, Kaoru Hanayama and Jack Hanma are expected to play major roles in the upcoming episodes.
Director Toshiki Hirano reportedly emphasized that fans unfamiliar with the manga should avoid spoilers because the anime’s conclusion would have greater emotional and dramatic impact when experienced directly onscreen.
Baki-Dou adapts the fourth major manga storyline in Keisuke Itagaki’s hugely successful Baki franchise. The manga originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2014 to 2018 and was compiled into 22 collected volumes.
The broader Baki franchise began in 1991 with Baki the Grappler and has since expanded into multiple sequel series, anime adaptations, OVAs and crossover projects. According to published circulation figures, the franchise has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling martial arts manga series ever produced.
The franchise’s anime timeline includes:
- The 1994 original video animation
- The 2001 television anime adaptation
- Netflix’s Baki reboot beginning in 2018
- Baki Hanma in 2021
- Baki Hanma Season 2 in 2023
- The crossover special Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura in 2024
