The action-comedy anime Kill Blue has made waves in the anime community not just for its unique premise and high-profile global streaming rollout, but also for its same-day English dubbed release, a move that significantly increases accessibility and engagement for English-speaking audiences worldwide. This development was confirmed on April 12, 2026, by Anime News Network, which reported that the series’ English dub premiered on the same day as its original Japanese broadcast and streaming debut.

Kill Blue (original Japanese title Kiru Ao) began as a manga series written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from April 17, 2023, to September 1, 2025, and collected in thirteen volumes.

The story blends action and comedy, revolving around Juzo Ogami, a legendary 40-year-old assassin who suddenly finds himself physically transformed into a 13-year-old after a mysterious wasp sting. With his deadly skills intact but trapped in a child’s body, Ogami must infiltrate a middle school at his employer’s request while navigating everyday chaos and looming threats.

With its anime adaptation produced by CUE, Kill Blue premiered on April 11, 2026 on Japanese television via TXN (TV Tokyo and affiliates), marking a fast transition from page to screen.
