Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! anime reveals new trailer, key visual, and theme songs ahead of April premiere

The opening theme song, “Ciao Ciao,” will be performed by the idol group Sophià la Mode. The ending theme song, “Yawayawa Nerd Chō FreQuency,” will be performed by Mugendai Mewtype, a band from the BanG Dream! Series.

The anime will premiere in the Animazing!!! block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other affiliated channels on April 11 at 26:00, which is effectively April 12 at 2:00 a.m. It will also air on BS NTV.
A newly released character visual introduces Miori Morita, who is the younger sister of Meiko Morita.
According to Anime News Network, the “somewhat sexy manga café comedy” story follows Meiko Morita, a girl who moves to Tokyo from the countryside to transfer to an elite girls’ academy. In exchange for free tuition if she does volunteer work, she begins living and working at Hedgehog, a manga café that also functions as a girls’ dormitory.

At Hedgehog, Meiko meets several unusual characters. These include Rie Amamiya, a wealthy heiress who runs the dormitory and café and enjoys yuri and boys-love manga; Marika Suzuki, a popular streamer known on “MuTube” as “Marica Belltree”; and Neo Nakano, a professional gamer who competes in world championships.
Other characters in the story include Michika Narumi, a first-year high school student who works at a cat café in the same building as Hedgehog; Majikarumomorin Gōda, an 18-year-old who ends up living at Hedgehog; Gao, a streamer who runs the GaoChube channel; and Beruna, Gao’s maid who secretly works as a spy.
The anime is directed by Toshinori Watanabe, known for work on Tokyo Ghoul and Mix: Meisei Story, at PRA. Character designs are handled by Fumiya Uehara. Yayoi Tateishi, known for work on Baby Steps and Happy Sugar Life, is directing the music, while MONACA is composing the soundtrack.

The original manga by Kumako Hisama first debuted in Manga Time Kirara in December 2018. The fourth compiled volume was released on July 26, according to Anime News Network, and the fifth volume is scheduled to ship on May 27.
