How much money will BTS make? Inside the billion-dollar comeback powering the band’s global return after mandatory military service
BTS is set for a massive comeback, with reunion activities expected to earn over one billion dollars. This includes a huge world tour, merchandise, and music sales. The group's return is crucial for their parent company, Hybe, which saw profits dr...

BTS is a South Korean boy band formed in the early 2010s that rose to global prominence by blending polished pop, hip-hop influences, and introspective storytelling, helping propel K-pop into the Western mainstream. Comprised of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, the group is known for actively co-writing and co-producing its music, record-breaking album sales, and sold-out stadium tours worldwide.
The band stepped away from group activities to allow all seven members to complete South Korea’s mandatory military service.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in modern pop history, BTS has reshaped the global music industry through its cultural impact, commercial success, and devoted international fan base.
According to Billboard, the projected figure includes revenue from their 79-date world tour, merchandise sales, licensing deals, album sales, and streaming income tied to the group’s first release since completing mandatory military service. The scale of the tour, spanning Asia, Europe, and North America and featuring a high-capacity, 360-degree stadium setup, positions it among the biggest concert events of the year.
Touring has historically been BTS’s most significant revenue source. Their previous global tour grossed approximately $246 million (£182 million), setting a record for a K-pop act and underscoring the group’s unparalleled ability to sell out stadiums worldwide. With significantly more dates this time and heightened demand following a four-year hiatus, analysts expect earnings to rise sharply.
The financial stakes extend beyond the group itself. During BTS’s hiatus in 2024, parent company Hybe reported a nearly 37.5 percent drop in operating profit, citing the band’s absence as a key factor. The comeback is therefore expected to have a significant impact on Hybe’s earnings, further solidifying BTS’s status as the company’s primary commercial driver.
