At the March 1, 2026, Actor Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the Star Wars actor received the Lifetime Achievement Award from SAG-AFTRA.
“In my third year of college, I was a little lost,” he said. “I was failing at school. I felt isolated, alone, and then I found the company of people putting on plays, storytellers, people I once thought were misfits and geeks turned out to be my people.”
Who is Harrison Ford?
Harrison Ford is an American actor born in 1942 and one of Hollywood’s most enduring leading men, best known for portraying Han Solo in Star Wars and Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones film series. With a career spanning more than five decades, he has starred in major films across action, adventure and drama genres, earning global box office success and critical acclaim, and remains active in the industry well into his 80s.
According to Enews website, fighting back tears, Harrison paid tribute to his collaborators on and off screen, saying, “The work I do with other actors is one of the great joys of my life.”
“It’s a little early, isn’t it,” he added. “I’m still a working actor.”
After missing the 2025 Oscars due to a shingles diagnosis, Harrison returned to the spotlight at the 2025 Emmys with Calista, with whom he shares 25-year-old Liam. He said he has no plans to slow down in his career.
“I’m grateful, but I would have done what I did, and I’ll do what I’m doing, regardless of whether it’s deemed worthy of mention or not," he said. "Because it’s what I do. It’s what I love doing. I love telling stories. I love pretending to be somebody else."
