Murgatroyd, 39, and Chmerkovskiy, 46, made the move with their three sons, Shai, 9, Rio, 3, and Milan, 1. The couple documented the emotional transition in a YouTube video posted by Murgatroyd on Monday, June 29 capturing their final moments in their Los Angeles home before settling into Florida.
The couple also shared a video on Instagram showing themselves in tears while sitting in a car filled with moving boxes.
She wrote, “There are tears you don’t expect, goodbyes that hit harder than you imagined, and moments where you wonder if you’re making the right decision.” “But sometimes you have to leave what’s comfortable to find what’s meant for you.”
Murgatroyd said she believes the move was the right decision for their family. “Our boys are so happy, our hearts are full, and we’re incredibly grateful for this new chapter,” she wrote. “Goodbye LA. Hello Florida.”
She shared of the family’s experience in Florida so far, “The happiness, the slower pace, the sunshine, watching our boys love every second of it … it’s everything we hoped for and more.”
In her YouTube video, the two-time Dancing With the Stars champion became emotional while walking through the family's now-empty Los Angeles home after all of their belongings had been packed.
As they settle into their new life in Florida, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd have also put their former Los Angeles residence on the rental market.
