Jørgensen opened up about the ordeal in an instagram post. She said she had boarded Air Canada Flight 8646 after a “fabulous weekend in Montreal.”
After noting that many people had likely heard about the crash, she credited the two pilots for saving lives. “I owe my life to two brave souls Captain Antoine Forest and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther - they made the ultimate sacrifice so that we all could live…. I am indebted to them and my thoughts are with their families,” she wrote.
Jørgensen said she initially felt little during the incident due to adrenaline but experienced the emotional toll afterward.
“While Jørgensen said that on the night of the crash, she "felt nothing as adrenaline was rushing through my body," things have changed as the days have gone by.
"The days after has been tough - physically, mentally and emotionally," she said.
She added that she is now home recovering with the support of loved ones and plans to take time to heal. The dancer also thanked her “Dancing with the Stars” family for their “care and concern.”
Seventy-two passengers and four crew members were on board the CRJ-900 aircraft and two officers on the firetruck, which collided with it.
