The anime blockbuster Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai is set to return to theaters across the United States and Canada on March 6, 2026, giving fans another opportunity to experience the first chapter of its climactic trilogy on the big screen. The rerelease was announced by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, with tickets going on sale beginning February 20.

The film will screen in both its original Japanese version with English subtitles and a fully English-dubbed edition. Notably, this marks the first time the film will be available in SCREENX format in North America, offering a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience that extends the visuals onto the side walls of the theater.

The immersive format is expected to enhance the film’s dynamic battle sequences and elaborate animation.

The rerelease reflects continued demand for theatrical anime experiences, particularly for large-scale productions known for cinematic storytelling and high production value.

Originally released in Japan in July 2025 and in North America on September 12, 2025, Infinity Castle achieved significant commercial success. It became the highest-grossing international (non-English language) film ever released in North America, surpassing the long-standing record held by Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Globally, it stands as the highest-grossing anime film of all time, further cementing the franchise’s worldwide popularity.

The film also ranked among the top-performing releases of 2025 and earned widespread audience acclaim, reflected in a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes during its initial run.

Beyond box office numbers, the film received major industry recognition, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature Film and a Producers Guild of America nomination for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. It was also long-listed for a BAFTA Award in the animated category.

Infinity Castle serves as the first installment in a planned three-part finale adapting the climactic arc of the manga series created by Koyoharu Gotoge.

The story follows Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps as they confront the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji inside the shifting labyrinth of the Infinity Castle.

With subsequent chapters of the trilogy in development, the March 6 rerelease offers both longtime fans and new audiences a chance to revisit one of anime’s most commercially successful and critically recognized cinematic events before the saga continues.
