Celeste Rivas Hernandez, found dead in D4vd’s Tesla, appeared in his livestream video, photos and mentioned in Discord chat after she went missing, US media investigation claims

Fresh claims have emerged in the case surrounding the killing of a 14-year-old girl, whose decomposed body was discovered in 2025 inside an apparently abandoned Tesla that court documents suggest was registered to American singer-songwriter D4vd. The vehicle had been towed from the Hollywood Hills, according to court records.

CNN, American news organization, conducted an investigation with the help of an extensive review of social media posts both by and about D4vd, along with more than a dozen interviews. The probe revealed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the deceased teenager, repeatedly appeared in D4vD’s orbit before and after she was reported missing for the first time in February 2024.

In September 2025, the case came to light after the 14-year-old’s body was found, prompting the singer to cancel his world tour, upon which he had just embarked. He has not made any public comment in the months since.


Authorities investigating her death have also remained tight-lipped. A judge ordered that the results of Rivas’ autopsy be kept confidential at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division, which is handling the investigation into the young girl’s death.

The link involving d4vd, who is the target of a Los Angeles County grand jury investigation, traces back to the summer of 2024, when the singer shared a social media update saying he was experiencing writer’s block. “I’m in a song crisis right now,” the singer had lamented on Discord back then, as quoted by CNN. “Drop the one with the missing girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” an anonymous user wrote in response within minutes.

The user was referring to the teenager, who was a 13-year-old runaway at the time, whose face had been plastered on “missing person” posters. A year after that post, the dismembered and decomposed body of Rivas was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla reportedly owned by D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke.

The vehicle had been abandoned not far from the rented multimillion-dollar home where he was living in the glitzy Hollywood Hills overlooking Los Angeles. According to CNN, the car was eventually transferred to a tow yard, where an employee reached out to the police after noticing a foul smell emanating from the vehicle.

Rivas was reported missing in early 2024

Rivas was reported missing from her neighborhood in early 2024, according to CNN. Posters of her face were plastered around town and shared on social media at the time. Speaking to CNN, Elie Naddaf, a corner store owner in Rivas’ neighborhood, claimed that he would often see Rivas come in with her friends after school for snacks. He recalled her as a polite, respectful kid among the sometimes rowdy ones who would frequent his store. “Always nice,” he said of Rivas.

How Rivas ended up in D4vD’s

After tasting initial success in 2022 when his debut single “Romantic Homicide” went viral on TikTok, d4vd never looked back and moved to Los Angeles as his career began to take shape.

According to CNN, the management company of the singer d4vd rented a lavish house in the Hollywood Hills for $20,000 a month. Amid his fast-paced life, Rivas somehow ended up in his orbit. Lake Elsinore, California, Rivas’ hometown, is about a 90-minute drive from Los Angeles.

Rivas appeared with D4vD in livestream video in 2024

Clues regarding the girl’s connection to D4vd began to surface even before she was reported missing. In January of 2024, Rivas appeared side by side with D4vD in a livestream video on the social medial platform Twitch. In it, the pair joke and banter until about 3 a.m. before D4vD laughingly proclaims, “Delete everything.”

She was just 13 years old when she appeared alongside D4vD in a livestream video shot in the wee hours of the morning from inside a West Hollywood home linked to the entertainer. The teenager was photographed backstage at one of D4VD's concerts a few months later and was also seen in images stored on the memory card of a camera that had been left behind at the singer’s home in the Hollywood Hills after news of her death became public.
