BTS, the global K-pop supergroup, has announced its long-awaited return with a new album and a sprawling 70-plus-date world tour, marking the band’s first full-scale comeback in four years after completing mandatory military service and setting the stage for one of the largest concert runs in modern pop music history.

The seven-member group, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, will launch the tour at Goyang Stadium on the outskirts of Seoul with three shows on April 9, 11 and 12, before heading to Japan for two nights at Tokyo Dome. The tour will then expand into a large-scale international run across North America, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Australia, with additional stops in Japan and the Middle East expected to be announced later.

BTS is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010. Known for co-writing and co-producing much of their music, the group rose to global fame with chart-topping albums and sold-out world tours. They are widely regarded as one of the most influential and successful acts in modern pop music.

The tour news arrives ahead of BTS’ currently untitled album, set for release on March 20, marking the group’s first new music since pausing activities for mandatory military service in South Korea. Jin enlisted in late 2022, Suga was the final member discharged in mid-2025, and all seven members have now completed their service, officially ending the hiatus.

The group has remained musically inactive and off the stage since temporarily halting activities to allow members to fulfill their mandatory military service in South Korea. According to the Sun website, the comeback tour was first revealed by RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook during a group livestream in July 2025.

The upcoming shows will mark BTS’ first tour since the Permission to Dance on Stage concert series, which took place from 2021 to 2022. In December, the group publicly shared their excitement about returning to the stage.

“I’m so sick of 2025,” RM said during a livestream. “I’m going crazy wanting to come back quickly. Our last concert was in October 2022, so the performance hiatus has now stretched beyond three years.”

Live Nation said the tour will feature a 360-degree, in-the-round stage designed to create an immersive, high-capacity concert experience. Tickets for BTS’ ARMY Membership presale run from January 22 to 23, followed by a general sale on January 24.
