All 10 JEE toppers pick Computer Science at IIT-Bombay
IIT-Bombay was the most sought-after tech college the previous two years too, with Delhi and Madras a distant second and third.

Thirty-seven others in the top 50 followed suit and decided to pick the Powai college over other IITs at the close of first round admissions of 2023-24.
And when one looks at the top 100, 89 students opted for IIT-Bombay as their first choice, with everyone asking for computer science. Only 67 made the cut and others had to make do with their second option. Of the remaining in the top 100, twenty-three students will head to IIT-Delhi and nine to IIT-Madras, while one has dropped out.

Computer science at the Mumbai college has been the dream destinations for aspiring engineers across India for several reasons, including its placement records. There are a number of other factors responsible for this: from geography to gastronomy and startup culture to what coaching classes tell students.
Bombay, Delhi, Madras top IIT choices among top 500
IIT-Bombay, Delhi and Madras were the top choices among the top 500 rankers at the close of round one of admissions on Friday. Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee and Hyderabad have a small representation in this club.

"We are in the process of upgrading our infrastructure. In the next two years or so, we will open three new hostels with over 3,300 rooms. Additionally, we are constantly revamping our curricula to stay updated and relevant. The various departments and schools at IIT-B are ranked among the top in the world. Apart from their academic life here, students benefit from many extracurricular activities that help them learn other life skills," he added.
IIT-B director Subhasis Chaudhuri said: "IIT-Bombay tries to meet the aspirations of India's talented youth and challenges them to bring out their best. From giving them all the facilities to providing the right guidance, from accessing top class education to getting the right platform, students know their investment of four or five year at IIT-B will take them to the next level."
One candidate from the pool of the top 100 ranks and three from the initial 500 have dropped out.
This year, 57,152 seats are available in 119 institutions including IITs, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs and other government-funded technical institutes across the country. IIT-Kharagpur has the maximum number of choices due to the sheer number and variety of courses it offers, said professor Bishnupada Mandal, organizing chairman, JEE(Advanced).
