Palicha stated, “We're launching a separate app for Zepto Cafe next week! The team is shipping an MVP and iterating quickly, so it may not be perfect on Day 1, but it's worth it to launch fast.”
He added, “Zepto Cafe is scaling rapidly: we’re launching 100+ Cafes a month and already clocking 30K+ orders/day.”
ET reported on November 19 that Zepto is scaling up its cafe business — offering coffee, croissants, and other items — nationwide, with a goal to achieve an annualised revenue run rate (ARR) of Rs 1,000 crore within the next financial year, as per a company statement.
Its rival, food delivery platform Swiggy, has also introduced a 10-minute food delivery service, Bolt, in key markets including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Pune. Earlier this month, Swiggy announced it has expanded Bolt to over 400 cities.
Zepto recently raised $350 million in its latest round, which the company said marks the largest 100% domestic fundraising within India’s startup ecosystem. The round saw participation from Indian HNIs, family offices, and leading financial institutions, and was led exclusively by Motilal Oswal’s Private Wealth division.
Zomato had also experimented with 10-minute food delivery in Gurugram in 2022, but eventually discontinued the pilot programme. Instead, it launched Zomato Everyday, which delivers meals prepared by home cooks from centralised kitchens within relatively shorter timelines.
