WhatsApp web faces global outage, users unable to connect

Several users worldwide experienced disruptions while using the Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp, with many highlighting problems accessing the platform's web version.

The outage, which impacted both personal and business accounts, prevented users from connecting or sending messages via WhatsApp Web, sparking frustration and a surge of complaints on social media.

According to Downdetector, the online website performance monitoring tool, around 57% of WhatsApp users have reported issues with the web version, while 35% have faced problems with the app.


The issue has also been widely reported on X. One user wrote, “Am I the only one experiencing Whatsapp web problems or is it down globally?”


While another shared, “So I’m not the only one for whom Whatsapp web is not working"


Meta has not released any official statement addressing the cause of the disruption.
