New Delhi: Messaging giant WhatsApp said on Tuesday it has redesigned the storage management tool for people to easily identify, review and bulk delete content that may be filling their phones.

The messaging platform said it now offers easy cleanup suggestions by bucketing both large files and media that has been forwarded many times, sorting files by size in descending order, and providing a way to preview files before deleting them. "You can also see a preview of media before selecting one or multiple items to delete," the company said in a statement.

The new storage management tools are rolling out to users worldwide this week. When available, users can navigate to the new tool by going to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.

Facebook owned WhatsApp is now delivering around 100 billion messages a day, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said in the quarterly earnings call last week.
In India, WhatsApp has over 400 million active users and Facebook is looking for directors for WhatsApp payments and partnerships in India.

Last month, WhatsApp stated about 175 million people message a WhatsApp Business account every day and that the platform plans to focus on customer service to help larger businesses more seamlessly and cost-effectively use WhatsApp to provide support to their customers, and additional features to help people and businesses buy and sell on WhatsApp.
