Wells Fargo appoints Uday Odedra as head of India, Philippines operations

US-based financial services provider Wells Fargo & Company announced on Tuesday that Uday Odedra has been named as the head of its business in India and the Philippines. Odedra will report to the head of global operations, David Owen.

Odedra joins Wells Fargo from UBS AG with broad experience in the global financial services sector, including international business leadership, technology, and data strategy. With more than 25 years of experience at UBS, Odedra served in a variety of leadership roles, including chief executive officer (CEO) of India, and chief information officer (CIO) for Asia.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in computing information systems from Birmingham City University in the UK.


“I am pleased to welcome Uday to the Wells Fargo leadership team. Our India and Philippines teams are a critical part of the bank’s business and under Uday’s leadership, we will continue to strengthen our operations in the region,” said Owen.

Wells Fargo India & Philippines is primarily an extension of the technology, operations, and corporate support teams of Wells Fargo, the fourth largest bank in the US. It engages in application development and support, testing, other technology functions, international operations, knowledge support, and middle and back-end banking process solutions for a wide spectrum of Wells Fargo’s needs.

The company currently has global capability centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Manila.
