Vietnam tech firm FPT starts construction of UAV, semiconductors, cybersecurity training complex

FPT, ​Vietnam's leading technology ​conglomerate, said it has ​begun construction of a training complex focused on semiconductors, cybersecurity ‌and unmanned ⁠aerial vehicles ⁠in the northern ​province of Dien Bien.

* The 10.5-hectare (26-acre) ​facility will provide education and training for students of ​high-school age ⁠through to postgraduate ‌levels, FPT ​said ​in a statement.

* ⁠The first phase is scheduled to ​open in early ​2028.


* FPT did not disclose the project's cost or the number of people it expects ‌to train.

* The Vietnamese government aims ​to develop ​at ⁠least 50,000 semiconductor professionals by 2030, including at least 35,000 workers for ​production, packaging, testing and other segments of the industry's value chain. (Reporting by Phuong Nguyen; Editing by John Mair)
