Indian users are spending less time on apps due to poor connectivity, leading to declining app retention rates, impacting revenues and user satisfaction, finds an OpenSignal report for the January to March period.

Here’s a look at how poor connectivity is hurting app economy:

29% of app sessions are disrupted by poor cellular signal, almost one-third. 11% app sessions are disrupted by poor WiFi signals.

App data transfers during disruptions are 20% shorter on cellular network and 11% shorter on WiFi.


Users are more likely to uninstall an app on the first day due to poor signals. 31% of video playing apps, 24% news and magazine apps and 23% lifestyle apps were uninstalled on the first day of download.
49% drop in app retention rates after a week due to poor connectivity.
