USDA and Palantir sign $300 million software purchase agreement
The US Department of Agriculture and software company Palantir Technologies on Wednesday announced the signing of a $300 million Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).

The agreement is ‌aimed at supporting the National Farm Security Action Plan (NFSAP), the release said, adding that it will also modernize how USDA delivers services to America's farmers.

Palantir said it will provide operational software ‌to enable USDA to improve service delivery for farmers and government field staff.

The BPA will build on Palantir's existing work with USDA's "Landmark" platform, and will support the "One Farmer, One File" initiative. The statement noted that Landmark is enabling ‌USDA to transform how farmers report acreage through self-service digital tools.

"Protecting America's farmland is protecting America itself, and this work gives USDA the visibility and speed needed to safeguard our food supply," said USDA Chief Information Officer Sam Berry.
