Union cabinet approves Rs 22,919-crore scheme to boost electronics manufacturing

The scheme will add 91,600 jobs directly and generate investment of Rs 59,350 crore.

Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced incentives worth Rs 22,919 crore to boost electronics manufacturing with a focus on passive components and sub-assemblies in India.

The initiative is set to complement active component manufacturing under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).

The scheme will add 91,600 jobs directly and generate investment of Rs 59,350 crore.
