Uber to set up first India data centre with Adani Group

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced the company's first data center in India, a collaboration with the Adani Group, set to launch later this year. This facility will be instrumental in testing and deploying Uber's technology at scale.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced that the company is setting up its first data centre in India with the Adani Group.

He shared the update in a post on X while visiting Gautam Adani, founder and chairman of the Adani Group.

Khosrowshahi said the data centre is being set up to test and deploy the company’s technology. “Ready later this year, this investment will help us build at scale - from India, for the world,” he wrote.



The announcement comes during Khosrowshahi’s visit to India. On Tuesday, he met several union and state ministers, including finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu.

Khosrowshahi, who last visited India in 2024, will also travel to Mumbai, where he is expected to meet state government officials, before heading to the company’s technology centre in Bengaluru later this week.
