Space data analytics startup Suhora Technologies on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership with US-based Orbital Sidekick (OSK) to bring high-resolution hyperspectral satellite imagery services to India. With the partnership, Suhora will integrate OSK’s wide-spectrum (VNIR-SWIR) imagery into its analytics platform, enhancing India’s earth observation and geospatial data capabilities.

The data will be made available on SPADE, Suhora’s subscription-based SaaS platform that currently simplifies access to synthetic aperture radar, optical, and thermal satellite data. OSK’s sensors capture hyperspectral imagery across 472 contiguous spectral bands with a spatial resolution of 8.3 metres, enabling detailed material classification and detection.

“SPADE will soon support applications such as mineral classification, rare earth mapping, petrological surveys, and environmental monitoring like methane leak detection and oil spill estimation,” the company said in a statement.

Krishanu Acharya, co-founder of Suhora, said the demand for satellite analytics is rising as enterprises and government agencies increasingly turn to space-derived insights. “The strategic applications enabled by this collaboration will support smarter, data-driven decision-making in India and globally,” he added.

OSK currently operates a constellation of five commercially active hyperspectral satellites, offering higher revisit rates and broader coverage than publicly available sources.

Tushar Prabhakar, co-founder of OSK, said, “India presents immense opportunities for the application of this technology across critical sectors. Suhora's strong local presence and expertise will be instrumental in delivering these powerful insights and driving significant value for our clients.”
