Stellantis , China's Leapmotor plan to expand EV partnership, boost European production

Stellantis said on Friday it would expand its partnership with China's Leapmotor , through ‌manufacturing ⁠cooperation in ⁠Europe.

Under the ​plan, the partners are adding ​production of Leapmotor's B10 model a of ​new jointly-developed ⁠electric C-SUV under ‌the ​Opel ​brand at ⁠Stellantis' Zaragoza plant in Spain, ​as well as cooperating in ​part purchasing.

The two groups are also considering allocating new ‌Leapmotor models to Stellantis' Villaverde plant ​near Madrid ​from ⁠2028 and potentially transferring the ownership of the site ​to their Stellantis-led Leapmotor Iternational joint venture.
