Data cloud company Snowflake has announced a collaboration with chipmaker Nvidia to provide a full-stack artificial intelligence (AI) platform for its enterprise customers.

With this partnership, the companies aim to combine their data storage and processing abilities to speed up AI development for businesses across industries.

“Data is the fuel for AI, making it essential to establishing an effective AI strategy,” Sridhar Ramaswamy, Snowflake CEO, said in a statement. “Our partnership with Nvidia is delivering a secure, scalable and easy-to-use platform for trusted enterprise data. And we take the complexity out of AI, empowering users of all types, regardless of their technical expertise, to quickly and easily realise the benefits of AI,” he added.

Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, “enterprise data is the foundation for custom AI applications that can generate intelligence and reveal new insights.”

Some of Snowflake's major products will get a push with Nvidia's accelerated compute abilities, including Snowflake Copilot, an LLM-powered assistant which enables use of generative AI in coding tasks etc, and Document AI, which helps enterprises use LLMs to extract content like amounts or contractual terms from documents and fine-tune results using a visual interface and natural language.
