The latest cohort announced is from 13 countries. Joining the group are 33 founders from across Europe, including six female founders.
The startups in the programme are Synativ, Telescope, Twain, Akeero, Baselime, Calliper, CreatorSpace, Fides, Popsink, RevMap, Surein, Choice Options, Studeo, Xelda, and Otto Finance.
These will go through an eight-week schedule, to learn the basics of company building from other founders and operators, which will run until July 15. Additionally, Sequoia will invest $1 million upfront in each selected startup.
“Our business is built around this idea of trying to find people as early as we can and be in business with them for as long as we can,” George Robson, partner at Sequoia Capital.
Robson added that Sequoia thinks about the accelerator programme “in the context of trying to build an enduring relationship,” citing the fact that it often participates in multiple rounds for companies on their way to a public listing. “We believe that there’s a signalling advantage for companies that participate in Arc,” he said.
