Customer relation management software giant Salesforce on Thursday announced the availability of Slack AI to all paid Slack customers with expanded language support.

Slack AI uses a client company’s conversational data to help end users or employees pick up faster on processes and communications with system-generated summaries and new search abilities.

Workplace messaging and productivity app Slack was acquired by Salesforce for about $28 billion in 2021. It competes directly with Microsoft’s Teams.

Slack AI, priced at $10 per user per month for Slack Pro and Business+ plans of Slack, is available now as a paid add-on for all paid Slack plans in English, Spanish and Japanese, with additional language support coming soon.

With the development, businesses of all sizes can access an intuitive generative AI experience built natively on Slack where their work already happens, as per a statement from the company.

Prior to this, in February – when Slack AI was first launched – only large enterprises paying for Slack had access to Slack AI.

Slack AI latest features include a new recap feature that delivers a daily morning digest containing summaries of channels a user wants to follow, personalised search answers and conversation summaries.

Customers on pilot are already saving an average of 97 minutes per user each week using Slack AI to find answers, distil knowledge, and spark ideas, according to an internal analysis, the statement added.

Beyond Better Foods uses Slack as its primary communication platform. As a healthy dessert brand, their operations team uses Slack AI’s enhanced search capabilities to fast-track answers for logistics planning and recaps to keep track of select channels, saving time and keeping them focused.

“When I need to get my CEO a fast answer at 2 pm on a Friday, I can use Slack AI’s search function. I’ve only been using Slack AI for about a month, but it’s already helped me quickly find answers countless times, and is saving me at least 30 minutes a day,” Andy Kung, vice president of operations at Beyond Better Foods, a customer of Slack, was quoted as saying.
