The video highlighted the robot's various capabilities, with Benioff commenting, “DeepSeek is AI that costs pennies. Unitree is robots that cost less than a MacBook.”
Developed by the Chinese robotics startup Unitree, the robot, nicknamed the “kung fu bot,” is described as an “acrobatic humanoid,” according to the South China Morning Post.
Benioff further stated, “DeepSeek + Unitree G1 = the future of cheap, scalable digital labor. It’s not science fiction anymore.”
Social media reactions
The post sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users voiced concerns about the advancements, particularly their potential impact on the job market.
One user asked, “Sooo what does the human labor force do in turn??”
Another remarked, “It's all coming true. Upgrade yourself or be left out.”
However, some others expressed more optimism, with one user saying, “AI that costs pennies. Robots cheaper than a MacBook. We’re not heading into the future...we’re sprinting into it.”
Recently, Arundhati Bhattacharya, president and CEO of Salesforce (South Asia), recently stated that with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), the nature of jobs will evolve, and individuals must reskill to adapt. “There is a need to lean into the change and not resist,” Bhattacharya said.
She added that by working together, humans and AI can achieve much greater efficiency and productivity.
