Razorpay and artificial intelligence (AI) startup Replit on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership to enhance the monetisation capabilities of AI-first builders in India.

With this collaboration, Razorpay's payment infrastructure will be integrated with Replit's AI software creation platform, enabling Indian developers to pay for subscriptions easily and turn their AI-built applications into scalable, monetised products.

The companies said in a statement that India has a promising AI-driven economy with developers having access to tools to create new software. However, there has been a challenge in monetising this innovation.

This partnership will enable AI-built products to accept UPI and card payments from day one, participating in India's advanced real-time payment market, which processes over 20 billion UPI transactions monthly.

Under the agreement, Replit will adopt Razorpay’s International Payments Suite, allowing Indian users to pay in rupees via familiar local methods.

Razorpay’s payment stack will also be embedded directly into the Replit platform, handling compliance, FX, and USD settlements, thereby enabling Replit to monetise Indian users without needing a local entity.

Razopay cofounder and CEO Harshil Mathur said AI is reshaping product development, and monetisation is often the missing piece. “With Replit, we're bringing monetisation directly into the creation process so that builders can go from an idea to a paid product, instantly and compliantly,” he stated.

Founded in 2016 but propelled to relevance by the rise of AI, Replit is a platform for writing, running, and sharing code in numerous programming languages used by beginners and pros to build, host, and deploy software, websites, and AI apps quickly.

Replit CEO Amjad Masad termed India a market of growing importance for the vibe coding company, noting that it is the company's second-largest market by builder count. “Razorpay's leadership in India's payments ecosystem makes them a natural partner for this next phase of growth,” Masad added.
