Ride-hailing platform Rapido said on Monday that an individual named in media reports in connection with the shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff had not been active as a captain on its platform since October 14.

Shroff, who was the target of the attack, escaped unhurt. In a statement posted on social media, Rapido said it was “deeply concerned” by the incident involving the actor and his team and was relieved that he was safe. It also wished him a swift recovery.

Responding to reports that the individual was registered as a captain, the company said he had been inactive since October 14. "The company said it was in constant touch with the authorities and was supporting the investigation. It said it had responded promptly and shared all the information requested of it."

“Rapido has zero tolerance for violence or criminal activity,” the company said, adding that it would continue to extend its full cooperation.

As is common in India’s larger gig economy, individuals may be registered with several platforms at the same time. On the day of the incident, the individual had used Rapido’s services as a customer.
