Powering up: All about Apple’s new Macbook Air M3

For many years now, the MacBook Air has been the go-to choice for those who are looking for a thin and portable laptop. More so if they want to move away from Windows PCs.

Apple hasn’t messed with the winning formula with the MacBook Air, and the newlylaunched MacBook Air M3 is no different. It’s lighter than most laptops and thin enough to slip into your backpack without feeling like you are carrying a brick.

POWER CHOPS


The backlit magic keyboard has the right amount of travel and responsiveness. The touch ID fingerprint sensor lets you log in with a tap, so you can spend less time fiddling with passwords. The design, however, isn’t a new thing. The M3 chip is the real star of the show. The MacBook Air lets you breeze through everyday tasks without breaking a sweat.

Juggling a million browser tabs? You can almost hear the M3 laugh in the face of multitasking. The speaker system supports spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. It isn’t in the league of MacBook Pro, but is still solid enough.

Remember those days when your laptop died right before your big presentation? Those dark times (pun unintended) are over. They actually ended with the firstgeneration M-series MacBooks, but the M3 boasts of a battery life that lets you work from sunrise to sunset (and maybe even catch a movie afterwards) without needing to be tethered to an outlet.

The Retina display is vivid enough for watching movies and offers ample brightness.

While the MacBook Air M3 has almost everything one needs, there are a couple of things to consider. The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, which might feel a bit cramped for power users who like to have a million things open at once. Upgrading to a higher RAM configuration will set you back a bit.

Also, the port situation remains the same — two Thunderbolt/ USB-4 ports. While it gets the job done for most users, those who rely on a lot of peripherals might need to invest in a dongle or two. Starting at `1,14,9 0 0, the
MacBook Air comes in 13-inch and 15-inch display variants. It’s powerful enough to handle demanding tasks, light enough to carry anywhere, and stylish enough to turn heads. Sure, there are a couple of minor drawbacks, but they’re easily outweighed by the overall value it brings to the table.
