PM Modi inaugurates Rs 3,300 cr Kaynes semiconductor plant in Sanand GIDC in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated a semiconductor plant of Kaynes Technology in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the commencement of production at the facility and highlighting India’s efforts to strengthen its domestic chip ecosystem.The Rs 3,300 crore facility is a major step toward strengthening India's position in the global semiconductor supply chain. Kaynes Technology is an Indian electronics manufacturing company.“The inauguration of the Kaynes Semicon facility strengthens India’s push towards self-reliance. It marks a landmark step in building a robust semiconductor ecosystem,” PM Modi said in a post on X.This also aligns with the Centre’s “Make in India” vision.While inaugarating the project, PM Modi said the modules manufactured in Sanand will reach American companies and from there power the entire world. “The success of the mantra Make in India, Make for the World will echo in every corner of the world,” Modi said. He added that products manufactured at the facility have been booked for export, making it commercially operational from day one.
