Peak XV Partners has sold shares worth about Rs 1,756 crore in Groww-parent Billionbrains Garage Ventures, taking the venture capital firm’s gross return from one of its biggest India bets to about 92 times its original investment.

Peak XV Partners sold about 91.7 million shares at an average price of Rs 191.49 apiece through a bulk deal on Wednesday, according to stock exchange data. The sale reduces its holding from 15.68% at the end of June to about 14.2%.

The transaction marks Peak XV’s third major monetisation from Groww since the stock broking platform went public last November.

Peak XV sold 158.3 million shares as part of Groww’s initial public offering at Rs 100 apiece, fetching about Rs 1,583 crore. It sold another 62 million shares in May at Rs 180.01 apiece for about Rs 1,116 crore after the expiry of the IPO lock-in period. Including Wednesday’s transaction, the investor has now realised about Rs 4,455 crore from Groww share sales.

Groww’s offer documents show Peak XV held about 1.22 billion shares before the IPO at a weighted average acquisition cost of Rs 1.91 per share, implying an investment cost of roughly Rs 233 crore.

Following Wednesday’s sale, Peak XV is estimated to hold about 89.23 crore shares. At Groww’s September 16 closing price of Rs 189.76 on the NSE, that holding is worth about Rs 16,932 crore. Adding the value of its remaining stake to the Rs 4,455 crore already realised takes the overall value of Peak XV’s Groww investment to about Rs 21,387 crore—roughly 92 times its original investment on a gross basis.

Groww has emerged as a multi-bagger for several of its early venture investors, which have been steadily monetising their holdings through the IPO and subsequent block and bulk deals.

In May, Peak XV, Y Combinator and Ribbit Capital together sold 295.5 million shares worth about Rs 5,326 crore after the IPO lock-in expired. Y Combinator sold another 74.5 million shares for about Rs 1,435 crore in August, while Ribbit Capital followed later that month with sales worth about Rs 2,217 crore.

Groww went public in November 2025 through a Rs 6,632-crore IPO, India’s second-largest fintech public offering, comprising a Rs 1,060-crore fresh issue and a Rs 5,572-crore offer for sale. Its shares were priced at Rs 100 apiece in the IPO.

The Bengaluru-based company is India’s largest stock broker by active clients and has expanded beyond broking into mutual funds, lending and other wealth products. Its operating revenue rose 66% year-on-year to Rs 1,501 crore in the June quarter, while net profit nearly doubled to Rs 735 crore.
