Elon Musk is making fundamental changes to how Twitter operates and he is making them real quick.

After having sacked the entire top brass at the microblogging platform following his acquisition, Musk now wants to overhaul Twitter's user verification process.

According to a report in The Verge, Twitter is currently planning to charge $19.99 for the new Twitter Blue subscription. Under the current plan, verified users would have 90 days to subscribe or lose their blue checkmark.

Earlier on Sunday, Musk had tweeted: "The whole verification process is being revamped right now.”

In addition, employees working on the project have been given a strict diktat by Musk - meet the deadline by November 7 or be ready to face the axe.

The Platformer had reported on Sunday that Twitter was considering charging for the coveted blue check mark verifying the identity of its account holder.

Users would have to subscribe to Twitter Blue at $4.99 a month or lose their "verified" badges if the project moves forward, according to the report.

However, Musk has not made a final decision and the project could still be scrapped but according to Platformer it is likely that verification will become a part of Twitter Blue.
