Panasonic is eyeing white goods PLI, all-new India plant
The company declined to share which categories under the PLI scheme Panasonic was considering. Panasonic is eyeing three key high-growth areas to expand its business - AI platforms and services, EVs and living spaces as a solution.

The expansion plans are in alignment with Panasonic's aim to shift more operations from being Japan-led to India-led. "Many of our Indian teams are already providing global services, and we want to strengthen this model further," Chiba said. While the company is best known as consumer durables brand, nearly half of its revenue in India now comes from the business to business (B2B) segment, with products for supply chain solutions, industrial devices, and building systems driving growth. India is one of the company's fastest-growing markets, he said.
"It's not just about demand... the country also offers strong resources and customer networks, which is especially valuable for our B2B segment," Chiba said on the sidelines of Electronica India 2025 in Bengaluru.
