Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup OpenAl announced the rollout of ChatGPT Record mode for ChatGPT Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users on Thursday.

In a post on social media platform X, the company said, “Record mode is rolling out today in ChatGPT to Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users. Available on macOS desktop app.”

What is record mode?

The feature is designed to capture meetings, brainstorming sessions or any conversation where taking notes might be helpful. Users can record audio within the app, and ChatGPT will transcribe it automatically. It also picks out key points and can turn them into follow-ups, action items, or even lines of code. For now, it’s available at no extra cost.

An X users wrote, “Just used @OpenAI’s in ChatGPT for a meeting. Wow, total game changer; it transcribed everything, provided a summary, pulled action items, and I didn’t take a single note. Now using it for dumping random thoughts when out walking.”

Meanwhile, OpenAI has also made its image generation tool in ChatGPT available to all WhatsApp users. The company first brought its chatbot to WhatsApp last December through an experimental service called 1-800-ChatGPT, which allowed users to access ChatGPT without needing a separate app or account.
