Online grocery is part of the new normal, survey finds

Forty-one percent of participants said that while they will continue to shop online for groceries, they will do so less frequently.

A report from BofA Global Research highlights the emerging trends in ecommerce across fashion, grocery, health-tech, and ultra-fast commerce as of April 2022. It said online grocery ordering will become a part of the new normal even as consumers re-adjust their buying behaviour and shift some of their purchases offline.

Forty-one percent of participants said that while they will continue to shop online for groceries, they will do so less frequently.


What is your preferred app for ordering groceries

As for the buzzy ultra-fast grocery delivery segment, 44% of respondents said they had tried using a 10-minute delivery service for ordering important items, and 23% said they were likely to use one in the future. Myntra and PharmEasy led on consumer preference in online fashion and pharmacy, the survey found.

Which health

The survey has more than 1,000 participants, of which half were female and half were male. Thirty-five percent were aged 18 to 29 years, 37% were 30 to 44 years old, 19% were 45-60, and 9% were over 60. In terms of income levels/sources, the sample was largely representative of the Indian middle class.
